After eliminating the breeding point, the squad quickly retreated from the nest. The rest of the team members repaired their armor, bandaged wounds, and cleaned up the battlefield. On the open ground beside the ship, only Rén Huáng and Chìzǐ, mechs remained—along with their pilots.

Yu Zi Heng jumped out of her mech, loosening the bun she had tied her curly hair into during the battle, and childishly rubbed her head.

Shen Duo had already gotten out of his mech and handed her a flask of water.

“You did too,” Shen Duo said, then wanted to slap himself twice.

The blood-red skylight unique to the Chaos Star System cast a glow on them, making it difficult for Shen Duo to see Yu Zi Heng's features clearly. He could only see her deep brown eyes, which could calm anyone, and the faint smile on the corner of her lips.

Yu Zi Heng stared at him. Shen Duo was a 3S-class warrior, a head taller than her, with sharp features and determined eyes.

He was the kind of man she had fantasized about since she was a child, the kind who could protect her, protect the whole world.

“Alright, I get it. I like you too.”

With that, Yu Zi Heng pulled Shen Duo's chestplate towards her, tilting her head to kiss his lips.

In the midst of the most spectacular explosion, the most chaotic darkness, they kissed, the people who liked each other.

T/N: Finally, it's done! The concubine ranks were extremely difficult to translate! The term 'Ben Gong' (this Palace/I) appeared constantly. Ugh, I have a headache. I arrogantly told my friend I could finish this novel in two days. Lol, what a joke. It's not easy. This makes me respect the translators who translated those Ancient Chinese Palace novels with such precision and nuance. Mad respect. I wouldn't dare to tackle the Xianxia genre; that's another incredibly challenging genre to translate.

 

Even though I'm happy that Shen Duo and the female lead are finally together, the ending feels too rushed. Oh well, whatever. 🤣
