CHAPTER 103: Xie Jue's Daily Jealousy 2

Her kisses fell one after another. Xie Jue propped himself up on his elbows, letting her kiss him, and had to admit, his mood was excellent.

Deep into the night, the palace servants outside had quietly withdrawn, not making a sound.

The clear moonlight spilled across the lake, and the water was sparkling. It shone through the window, but couldn't penetrate the heavy bed curtains.

Soft, slightly breathless moans escaped from within the bed, muffled by the gauze curtains.

Yun Ling lay on the bed, her loose hair scattered around her, partially obscuring her delicate chin. His kisses quickly followed, his long, jade-like fingers brushing away her hair to cup her chin as he deepened the kiss...

Everything about him was forceful, leaving no room for refusal, and it was the same in bed.

    ……

Yun Ling buried her face in the pillow, her forehead beaded with sweat, unable to speak. Suddenly, she felt herself lifted, carried by him to bathe.

The hot water washed away the weariness and soreness of her body.

When she lay back down on the bed, Yun Ling was so tired she closed her eyes immediately.

He, still damp from the bath, embraced her from behind, his long fingers stroking her hand before intertwining their fingers and resting them on her waist. He kissed her neck again and again.

Yun Ling turned her head, meeting his lips in response, her voice drowsy and indistinct. “Mmm... sleep.”

“Mm,” a low, husky voice murmured in her ear, still carrying the lingering afterglow of passion.

But he didn't do anything else. He could see she was utterly exhausted. He lay down, habitually holding Yun Ling close, and quickly fell asleep.

Their body heat mingled, sweet and warm.

Many years ago, starting from when Xie Jue was seven, the year Empress Zhaohui passed away, he lived amidst scheming and suspicion, surrounded by bloodthirsty wolves and tigers. One misstep meant falling into an abyss, leaving no trace behind. Xie Jue rarely managed to sleep peacefully; the slightest disturbance would wake him.

But in recent years, all hatred had settled, the Great Jin Dynasty was at peace, and she was by his side. Everything felt complete. Xie Jue began to sleep soundly, more deeply, no longer waking at the slightest sound.

    ——

Last night, Mother had promised to sleep with her. If she woke up and didn't see Mother, Muyun would definitely make a fuss.

Yes, all because Father was so unreasonable and wouldn't let her bring that young Marquis into the Palace.

She had to steal Mother away.

That's what little Muyun had decided before going to sleep. So, she slept with a tight grip on Mother's clothes, afraid she would leave.

If Mother left, she would show Mother what a flood of tears looked like! The little Princess thought angrily.

The next morning, warm sunlight streamed in through the window. Little Muyun's thick eyelashes fluttered, and soon, her large, dark, and watery eyes opened. She didn't make a fuss after waking up; she just lay quietly with her eyes open. Her soft, adorable expression was enough to melt anyone's heart.

After a while, she reached out a small hand to explore beside her. Feeling the soft fabric of a garment, she squeezed it contentedly, closed her eyes, and snuggled closer.

Little Muyun, who had just opened her eyes, wasn't fully awake yet. Instinctively, she burrowed into Yun Ling's arms, needing to feel her mother.

“Mother…” Little Muyun's small mouth, still damp with sleep, pouted, and she nuzzled like a little pig, her small hands and feet clinging to Yun Ling.

Such a bossy little thing. But her face was so pink and soft, utterly adorable.

When her daughter was quiet, she was incredibly cute, showing none of her impish side. Yun Ling's heart softened; she wanted to give her everything in the world.

Xie Jue always said she spoiled the children, but Yun Ling couldn't help it. After all, her two children were so beautiful and adorable.

Mothers always think their children are the most adorable in the world.

But this wasn't just Yun Ling's motherly bias. Zhiyu and Muyun inherited the best features of both her and Xie Jue, and were exceptionally beautiful from birth. As they grew, their beauty became even more striking.

Although only six years old this year, their future beauty was already evident.

Their pretty, innocent faces had charmed the palace maids and servants, even the ever-vigilant Lǜyī and Lǜshuǐ.

Since Xie Jue played the strict father, she could afford to be more indulgent with the children. It wasn't unconditional or limitless indulgence, however; Yun Ling was quite strict in matters of importance. They were still young and needed their parents' love; they couldn't simply be constantly reprimanded.

Not long after, her daughter fell asleep again.

Children have short memories. The anger from last night was completely forgotten by the next morning. Little Muyun was now fast asleep.

Xie Zhiyu, on the other hand, was up early, having already memorized two chapters and written several pages of characters, his clothes neatly arranged.

Despite his young age, Xie Zhiyu had already taken on a significant amount of schoolwork. Though small, he was intelligent and understood the responsibilities he carried, possessing great self-discipline from a young age. Even when playing, he never neglected his studies.

After completing his studies, he rubbed his eyes, his tender, handsome face creased with a small frown.

Last night, he had made a fuss waiting for her return, resulting in both children sleeping late. Although he didn't get enough sleep, Xie Zhiyu still got up as usual despite his sleepiness and finished his homework.

His little head nodded with sleepiness.

Yun Ling never interfered with her children's determination. Seeing that her son had finished and was tired, she beckoned him over to take a nap.

No matter how composed the young Crown Prince was, he was still a child. He immediately went over, took off his boots, climbed onto the bed, snuggled next to his mother, and quickly drifted off to sleep.

With her two soft, cuddly little ones asleep beside her, Yun Ling, also still feeling sleepy, hugged her children and closed her eyes.

Mother and children slept peacefully and sweetly together.

    ——

Xie Jue awoke to bright daylight.

He reached out an arm, instinctively trying to pull someone into his embrace, but found nothing.

His sharp brows furrowed, then he slowly opened his eyes, gazing at the empty, cold bed beside him – clearly unoccupied for some time.

After a long moment, he got up without expression.

Grand Eunuch An pushed open the door, carrying water to attend to his morning ablutions. He saw the Emperor sitting on the bed, his face devoid of emotion.

  The next moment,

Xie Jue closed his eyes, his thin lips pressed together, and he threw a pillow to the floor with a thud.

  “Good, very good.”

She said she loved him most…

  It was simply…

  Flattery!
