Spoiled Eldest Miss x Two-faced Madman

CHAPTER 22: He Wants to Kill Wu Sheng. [First Update]

Dizziness swept through her, and An Jiu could feel her strength draining away. The sharp stings across her skin made her shiver involuntarily, curling up into a tight ball.

In the dim night, she barely closed her eyes, silently enduring the pain and the coldness brought by her sweat. Her gaze was fixed deep into the dense forest.

Her consciousness grew fainter. To have come this far in such a state was already beyond what most could endure, and now her body was at its limit.

Her head spun, her eyelids grew heavier, and they began to uncontrollably drop, her vision descending into total darkness.

Suddenly, a rustling sound from the leaves broke through the silence.

An Jiu mustered what little strength she had left, lifting her gaze to where the sound had come from.

A sense of unease stirred within her. Her actions had been reckless, after all, for no one could say for sure who would arrive first.

It could be Pei Ji, or Wu Sheng, or perhaps someone else—or even a wild beast from the forest.

This was, in the end, a gamble where her life was the stake.

Fortunately, she had won the bet.

The first thing An Jiu saw was a white figure.

The sky was beginning to brighten, and the faint light from the dawn touched him, as if surrounding him with a halo of white.

He walked out from the depths of the forest, tall and slender, his face concealed by a mask. He raised his hand to brush aside the branches blocking his path and approached her, like a celestial being descending from the heavens.

If she were truly An Jiu, she would surely have fallen deeply for this person.

An Jiu thought to herself, but unfortunately, beneath this romantic and beautiful scene, there was nothing but a complete scheme.

“Fei... Fei Yi... you really came…”

The girl under the tree tilted her small face upward. Her skin, which was already pale, looked even whiter, almost like paper. Her bright and captivating peach blossom eyes hung limply, her long eyelashes resembling wounded butterfly wings. The whole person seemed to have lost all color in an instant.

Especially her red clothes, which were torn in several places, exposing the pink undergarment beneath.

There were also bloodstains that had dried and coagulated on her cheeks, neck, and forearms.

This girl seemed to have experienced something terribly bad, pitiful and helpless, as if a flower had been crushed, her body in disarray.

When Pei Ji saw An Jiu in this state, his heart skipped a beat, and for the first time, he felt a pang of regret.

How could he let her come out alone at night?

Pei Ji had never felt such a thing. Even before his death in his previous life, he had never felt regret, but in this moment, he experienced it.

It felt as if his heart was being scorched by flames, panic surging in his chest.

An Jiu couldn’t die! She mustn’t be harmed!

The man hurried forward, quickly crouching down. His long fingers landed on the girl’s wrist.

The pulse showed that she wasn’t injured—neither externally nor internally. She hadn’t been violated, and her body was still intact.

The reason for her condition seemed to be exhaustion and perhaps too much fear. Had she gotten lost in the forest?

The diagnosis appeared in his mind, and Pei Ji, realizing the situation, finally let out a breath of relief, only then noticing that his back was soaked with sweat.

It was only then that he had the strength to respond to her: “I’m here.”

The girl’s voice was small, barely audible: “I thought... you wouldn’t come…”

Pei Ji’s thoughts returned to the present, his emotions calming as he spoke softly: “Since I promised you, I will always come.”

An Jiu’s eyes were almost closed, and she whispered, “Liar. I blew the whistle so many times, and you only came once.”

  “Sorry, I was late.”

‘Fei Yi’ was always gentle, like the clear moon and soft breeze, tender and tolerant. He leaned forward, his arm passing under her armpit and behind her knees, gently lifting the girl from the ground and standing up, heading back the way they came.

  “I’ll take you away now.”

The girl’s small body felt light in his arms, despite the fact that she had a bit of weight to her.

Her small face rested against his shoulder, her eyes closed weakly, with her eyelashes fluttering occasionally.

Pei Ji could tell she wasn’t asleep. Her body was trembling slightly, like a drenched kitten.

Just as he was about to ask her where she felt unwell, the girl spoke softly in his ear: “Fei Yi, I’m so cold.”

Cold? He tightened his arms, pulling her even closer into his embrace.

But the girl’s trembling only grew more intense.

She made a small, muffled sound in her throat, like a whimper or a soft moan.

“What’s wrong?” Pei Ji furrowed his brow and asked.

  “I... w-wo... I feel so bad…”

The girl’s face was pressed against his shoulder, her forehead resting against his neck, with a small patch of skin from both of them touching each other.

As they walked, the skin from both sides began to rub together, creating an indescribable sensation of tingling and itchiness.

An Jiu had never known that heightened senses could have such an effect!

Not only that, the tighter he held her, the more the heat from his body transferred through the thin fabric and onto hers. It should have been a warm sensation, but due to her heightened senses, all she felt was unbearable heat!

This side effect was too suggestive! It wasn’t supposed to be in a serious story!

Seeing the pale girl’s cheeks gradually flush and her trembling becoming more pronounced, even Pei Ji, despite his usual calm, should have realized that something was wrong.

She didn’t look fine at all.

But earlier, he hadn’t found any signs of illness or poison, the only possibility remaining... she was poisoned by a Gu.

This kind of Gu poison couldn’t be detected by ordinary means, only through a special method could it be verified.

For her to be poisoned, she must have encountered Wu Sheng!

Realizing this, the suppressed anger in Pei Ji’s heart erupted.

In his eyes, Wu Sheng was nothing significant. In his past life, the man had caused no trouble, and as for his ‘living dead Gu,’ Pei Ji thought it was as childish as a game, utterly ridiculous.

In any case, Wu Sheng was just another fool who brought about his own demise.

Pei Ji didn’t know much about Wu Sheng. In his previous life, when he had come to Pinglan City, his legs were still crippled and he hadn’t acquired any divine skills, so during the battle against Wu Sheng, he had only stayed in the rear. It was later, through Lin Qingyan, that he learned about the details of the frontlines.

Wu Sheng had a life-defining Gu, a poison that enhanced a person’s senses. By luring the Huashan Sect, he intended to use this poison to wipe out their entire army.

It was said that when Wu Sheng was learning martial arts, he was always sneaky and lazy, resulting in poor skills and frequent scoldings from his master and disdain from his fellow disciples. He had harbored hatred for many years because of this.

This time, Wu Sheng didn’t plan to kill anyone—he probably knew he didn’t have the ability to do so.

He just wanted to turn all the Huashan Sect disciples into invalids. As long as their sense of pain was heightened, they wouldn’t be able to practice martial arts. After all, getting injured while training was common, and without enduring pain, how could anyone achieve extraordinary martial skills?

Wu Sheng’s plan was ruthless, akin to cutting off the root of the problem.

In his previous life, the Huashan Sect had indeed fallen victim to this, but then there was He Ziqing. He Ziqing had an unusually dull sense of pain, and even when poisoned by the gu, he was unaffected. While everyone else lost their ability to move, he acted decisively, capturing Wu Sheng and resolving the crisis, thus becoming the Huashan Sect’s savior.

Gu poison was different from regular poison. To undo it, one had to find a Gu master.

Pei Ji’s anger surged within him. He stopped and bent down, gently placing the girl beside a tree.

It seemed that the girl sensed his intention, as her blurred eyes struggled to open, and she reached out weakly, grasping his sleeve. “Don’t go.”

Behind the silver mask, a pair of narrow, dark eyes stared deeply at the girl. His black pupils were even deeper than the dark forest around them.

It seemed as if something was being suppressed in his gaze, and his aura gradually turned dangerous. Yet, An Jiu appeared oblivious, her delicate fingers nervously clutching at his clothes as if it were her only support.

“I’m not leaving.” The man’s voice had become a little hoarse. He raised his hand, gently cupping her face, his soft fingertips slowly wiping away the bloodstains on her cheek.

He knew better than anyone how fragile An Jiu was.

She complained that the chair was too hard and needed a cushion, the nuts were too rough on her hands so even though she liked eating them, she didn’t want to peel them. She’d complain of tiredness after walking for a while, and when eating meat, she never gnawed on bones, afraid of hurting her teeth…

Looking at the scratches on her body now, though not severe, they were dense and countless.

He knew why she had come here—it was because of him that she had to endure all of this.

With Pei Ji’s nature, he should have been indifferent.

And indeed, he was indifferent—he only felt an overwhelming fury. This rage peaked when he saw the girl’s earlobe, flushed and glistening, clearly abused.

Pei Ji thought to himself, She’s mine.

But now, she had been treated like this by someone else.

He was going to kill Wu Sheng.

Behind the mask, his black eyes coldly stared at the small, red gem-like earlobe, feeling as though it was tainted with someone else’s scent, making it unbearably repulsive.

The earlobe of An Jiu, which had been pinched twice and was still numb, was gently touched by a warm finger. She no longer felt pain, but as soon as it was touched, she instinctively shuddered.

The lingering shadow from the experience was probably too strong, forming a conditioned reflex.

“Has this been touched by someone?” the low, hoarse voice asked.

An Jiu looked up at him, hesitated, and slowly nodded.

Pei Ji's long lashes fluttered slightly as his eyes met the girl's. He saw his own reflection in her dark, glossy pupils, with only himself in them.

She was his, and no one else could touch her.

An inexplicable urge washed over the man, causing him to lower his head and gently take the small, reddened earlobe, swollen like a berry, into his mouth.

His mask didn't cover his lips, so he easily ate the bright red fruit.

“Ah! Fei, Fei Yi…” The girl struggled, her hands raised to push against his chest, as if resisting.

How could she resist? Her very life belonged to him.

Pei Ji did not withdraw. He opened his mouth and bit down on the softness between his teeth, eliciting a stifled cry and trembling from the girl.

She huddled in his arms, trembling like a fledgling bird with barely any feathers.

Even so, she didn't leave. Instead, she nestled even closer into his embrace, as if his arms were the only safe harbor.

The soft female body slightly calmed the man's anger. He extended his tongue, methodically and insistently licking the girl's small, delicate earlobe clean.

During the entire process, the girl kept trembling softly. Her pushing hand fell weakly, and gradually she wrapped her arms around his neck, her body melting like water, softly and bonelessly leaning against his chest.

An Jiu's lips parted slightly, letting out short, rapid breaths.

Pei Ji finally deemed the earlobe clean, no longer bothersome or carrying an unpleasant scent.

【Pei Ji's favorability towards you has increased by 5 points; current level: 0.】

He pulled back, his throat inexplicably dry. “Where else did that person touch you?”

The girl's face was flushed, her beautiful peach blossom eyes shimmering. Her whole body was limp; if he weren't supporting her waist, she would probably collapse into a puddle on the floor.

A few questions arose in Pei Ji's mind; he wondered why she was reacting so strongly.

He hadn't used much force just now; it shouldn't have hurt.

The girl's eyes flickered, she glared at him playfully, weakly shaking her head. In a soft voice, she said, “No, he didn't touch me anywhere else.”

At that moment, An Jiu desperately wanted to ask: if he had touched her elsewhere, would he lick those places clean too? Why hadn't the book mentioned this? Pei Ji had this… dog-like marking-territory behavior!

    1. Haha, I'm glad the latter part brought a smile to your face! It was actually quite difficult to translate because the author used a very roundabout way to explain that situation. 🤣
