Spoiled Eldest Miss x Two-faced Madman

CHAPTER 26: “Pei Ji, Be Gentle! Are You Trying To Stab Me To Death?!”

Pei Ji finally took An Jiu back to the room, but it was his own room.

Throughout the entire process, the girl didn't move from his body. She clung tightly to his collar, her eyes red, her nose red, looking like she had suffered a great injustice.

Pei Ji, with his usual good temper, said nothing. He reached out to close the door, his back straight as he leaned against the chair, trying to create distance from the soft body pressed against him.

If he hadn't known she was under the influence of a Gu, he might have suspected she was intentionally flirting with him.

But... it was probably just his imagination.

This woman had just pledged her heart to ‘Fei Yi’ last night, how could she turn around and seduce him, this ‘cripple’?

“Miss An, can you get off of me now?” The white-clothed gentleman sighed softly, speaking in a gentle tone.

The girl gritted her teeth, her hands pushing against his chest, her waist straining slightly as she tried to get up. After a while, she whimpered, “I... I can't get up.”

A layer of cold sweat had formed on her forehead, and a fine mist of sweat clung to her white skin, which was covered in tiny hairs, like a pink peach covered in morning dew.

It didn't seem like she was faking it, more like she was truly in pain.

The white-clothed gentleman's brow furrowed slightly, and his tone changed, “Miss An, please allow me to take your pulse.”

An Jiu hesitated for a moment before extending her hand.

The man's long, white fingers landed on the girl's slender wrist. His thick, long eyebrows drooped as he looked down. A moment later, he lifted his eyelids, and a look of seriousness appeared in his refined features. “Miss An, if I'm not mistaken, you seem to have been poisoned by a Gu.”

He paused, and Pei Ji's usually gentle face became serious. He asked in a low voice, “Where did Miss An go last night?”

The girl seemed startled, her eyes widening. She looked like a frightened cat, cute and adorable.

Her face was still slightly pale, her gaze flitting around, avoiding the question. “I... I didn't go anywhere last night. I don't know how it happened! Is this a Gu poison? How did you know? Can the Gu poison be cured?”

Pei Ji replied, “Of course it can be cured, but you need to tell me what you did to get poisoned by a Gu.”

Seeing that the girl was pursing her lips, seemingly determined to be stubborn, Pei Ji sighed, “Last night, the Huashan Sect tried to capture the Gu Master, but he got the news earlier and escaped, and everyone in the Huashan Sect returned empty-handed. Now you've been poisoned by a Gu, this is no small matter. Miss An, don't be willful. This is a serious matter, you should tell me everything. If you don't, I will inform the Huashan sect and let them question you.”

An Jiu instinctively exclaimed, “I'm not being willful at all!”

Pei Ji's lips twitched, feeling that her focus was quite strange. “So, Miss An is not being willful. Does that mean you can tell me?”

The girl blinked anxiously, looking at him with suspicion. “If I tell you, you can't tell anyone else.”

Pei Ji smiled gently, nodding patiently. “Alright, I promise you.”

The girl moved her lips, finally relenting. “I... I met that Gu master last night... I swear, I didn't do it on purpose! It was just... just an accident!”

Even a proud young lady like her knew how unreasonable her actions had been last night, and she had also messed up the Huashan sect's plans. That's why she had been unwilling to speak initially, fearing blame.

But now, in order to detoxify herself, and with Pei Ji's promise, she could only bite the bullet and tell everything.

Stumbling through the entire process, of course, she omitted the existence of Fei Yi, simply stating that she had used a trick to escape.

Nervously biting her lip, she stared at the white-clothed gentleman in front of her, looking as though she feared he would go back on his word.

With the girl’s tear-stained eyes fixed on him, Pei Ji fell silent for a moment before shaking his head in concession, saying helplessly, “Miss An, don't worry. I won't inform anyone about this matter.”

The girl's eyes were round and bright, her head tilted like a cat as she sized him up.

“Really? It's just between heaven, earth, you, and me?”

Pei Ji smiled helplessly. “Yes, just between heaven, earth, you, and me.”

The girl still seemed unconvinced. “Why are you helping me?”

“Regardless, in the eyes of the Huashan sect, Miss An and I are companions. I'm not just helping you, I'm helping myself. If this matter gets out, I and the others will also be held responsible.”

This was true. They were a team, and if An Jiu committed a crime, the others would also have to bear some of the responsibility.

Hearing him say this, the girl finally relaxed. Her previous vigilant expression vanished, her small body collapsing into a heap. Her two small hands pressed against her knees, and she rubbed her lips slightly, her lower lip slightly protruding.

She continued to softly suck in air. “It hurts so much…”

As she moved, her soft body rubbed against the man's legs.

The girl was very carefree, perhaps thinking that because of his disabled legs, he would be an unfeeling, unconscious chair. But Pei Ji knew that his legs had long since recovered; he was only pretending to be disabled

Pei Ji endured for a moment before saying, “Go to the bed. I will use acupuncture to relieve some of your pain.”

An Jiu said with particular self-righteousness, “I can't get up!”

With that, she moved one leg to the ground, her toes touching the floor, demonstrating it to him. As a result, as soon as her body left the ground, she fell limply back down, sitting with a thud.

Pei Ji let out a muffled groan from his throat.

The girl blinked her long eyelashes, her expression utterly innocent. “See? I wasn't lying. Your legs are so hard, I don't want to sit on them!”

  Pei Ji: “...”

He had no choice but to push his wheelchair himself, ‘transporting’ the girl from his lap to the edge of the bed. Then, he softly muttered an apology, “Excuse me,” before using both hands to gently grasp her slender waist, lifting her up like a baby and placing her on the bed.

The girl exclaimed, “You're so strong!”

Pei Ji withdrew his hands, his fingertips curling slightly within his sleeves. He perfunctorily twitched his lips. “Although Pei is a physician, I am not weak.”

The girl nodded repeatedly. “I know. You just have crippled legs, not crippled hands.”

  Pei Ji: “...”

In front of Fei Yi, the girl was unusually well-behaved, making him feel unreal. But in front of Pei Ji, the girl had an infuriating personality, never missing an opportunity to tease him.

How could the difference between people be so great? Fei Yi wasn't particularly affectionate towards her, yet she liked him immensely. Pei Ji treated people gently, yet she found him disagreeable.

For some reason, even though they were both him, Pei Ji felt a strong sense of disparity at this moment, leaving him feeling quite complex.

“Hey, Pei Ji, can't you cure me of that poison?”

The girl sat on the edge of the bed, her two small legs dangling.

This was Pei Ji's bed, yet the bedding was neatly folded, and the plain bedsheets were without a single wrinkle, clean as if no one had ever slept on it.

No, perhaps no one ever had.

Her gaze only glanced at it briefly, not lingering, as if she didn't care about sitting on a man's bed.

Pei Ji was used to this. An Jiu was bold by nature, capable of even running away from her wedding, so he didn't expect her to be particularly reserved or polite.

It could be said that under An Jiu's subtle influence, Pei Ji had become able to naturally accept her close contact without resistance or suspicion.

It wasn't for nothing that she kept throwing herself at him, An Jiu thought happily.

The man's gentle voice came, “I don't know what kind of Gu poison Miss An has been afflicted with. Right now, I can only alleviate the symptoms, not cure it completely. We need to find the source of the Gu poison to solve your problem.”

An Jiu's face crumpled in disappointment. She glared fiercely at the gentle man in white, her eyes and eyebrows full of discontent. “Aren't you a divine doctor! Why are you so useless?!”

This was the first time Pei Ji had been called useless. In two lifetimes, no one had ever dared to speak to him like that.

However, An Jiu dared. Not only did she dare, but she did it.

The man's eyes darkened slightly, the corners of his eyes narrowing, his expression becoming slightly dangerous. The girl on the bed was completely oblivious to this, continuing to rub her knees.

Every time she rubbed, her body trembled slightly. Clearly, she was in immense pain, her eyes reddening, yet she still didn't stop.

Rubbing and rubbing, seeing that Pei Ji hadn't reacted, the girl raised her head, her eyes red, and stared at him like a rabbit. “Aren't you going to give me acupuncture, Pei Ji? What are you doing!”

This call brought the man's thoughts back, jolting him back to reality. An Jiu had always been like this. Expecting her to speak to him politely was probably impossible in this lifetime.

From beginning to end, she had looked down on him.

Besides, what did it matter? In the end... she would die by his hand.

Despite this thought, the unpleasantness churning deep within him caused Pei Ji to apply slightly more pressure as he performed the acupuncture.

Acupuncture shouldn't be painful, and Pei Ji wasn't applying much pressure. For ordinary people, it would only be a slight pain, but for the girl, it was as excruciating as being stabbed with needles.

“Ah!” The girl's cry of pain rang out as expected, tears immediately rolling down her cheeks.

“It hurts so much! Pei Ji, you're bullying me! You're always pretending, your heart is so cruel!” An Jiu cried and shouted.

  “Young Master, I'm back! I... this... you…”

At this moment, the door was suddenly pushed open, and Ah Qi's strong figure appeared at the doorway, his words abruptly stopping as he looked at the scene inside in disbelief.

Beside Ah Qi were He Ziqing and Lin Qingyan.

Inside the room, An Jiu lay on Pei Ji's bed, her outer clothes discarded to the side, wearing only a pink undergarment, a sheer one at that.

The white-clothed gentleman sat by the bed, his hand reaching towards the girl.

The girl's words, “...Pei Ji, be gentle! Are you trying to stab me to death...?”

The crisp ending lingered in the air.

In short, whether heard or seen, it was very easy to misinterpret.

The five people present all froze.

“W-w-we didn't see anything! Continue, continue!” Ah Qi covered his face, quickly backing away, trying to close the door.

Lin Qingyan's cheeks flushed, shyly averting her gaze. Seeing He Ziqing standing there dumbfounded, she quickly pulled him back.

The door slammed shut again in front of the three of them.

The three stood outside, staring at each other for a while. Ah Qi awkwardly laughed, “I didn't expect Young Master and Miss An to have this kind of relationship, haha…”

Ah Qi stole a glance at Lin Qingyan's expression. He had always thought that Young Master would end up with Miss Qingyan, after all, they had been childhood sweethearts. Seeing the scene just now, he wondered how Miss Qingyan would feel.

Lin Qingyan, however, glanced at He Ziqing unintentionally, her face showing no disappointment, only a shy blush.

He Ziqing scratched his head, looking at the two beside him, his thick eyebrows and big eyes showing his honest nature. “What are you talking about? Wasn't Pei Ji giving Miss An acupuncture?”

Ah Qi, who had misinterpreted the scene: “Ah? Y-yes, is that so?”

He Ziqing affirmed, “Yes! I saw him holding silver needles in his hand!”

Lin Qingyan, who had also been misled: “...”
