Spoiled Eldest Miss x Two-faced Madman

CHAPTER 41: “I Only Like You.”

  “You...are angry?”

Pei Ji remained silent for a long time, watching as the girl's cheeks puffed out like a pufferfish, and continued to puff up. Only then did he hesitantly utter these words.

An Jiu's eyes widened, looking even angrier.

“You don't even know I'm angry?”

She said angrily, stamping her foot and turning to leave.

Suddenly, a large hand circled her arm. The man's fingers were long and slender, gripping her thin arm. A pulling force came, and An Jiu involuntarily stepped back, falling into a fragrant embrace.

An Jiu supported herself on his chest, her fingers hooking his clothes. She abruptly looked up and glared at him.

  “What are you doing?”

The little girl questioned angrily, her anger still present, but she didn't push him away.

That meant there was room for negotiation.

Pei Ji keenly sensed this. He didn't understand women, let alone how to coax them. All he could do now was follow his instincts.

He gently held the girl's waist, cleared his throat, and softened his tone. “Why are you angry?”

An Jiu's big eyes rolled, giving him a knowing look. She snorted, “Figure it out yourself.”

Pei Ji actually tried to figure it out. After thinking for a long time, he could only think of the owl's message from last night.

But didn't she say it was nothing?

Pei Ji asked uncertainly, “Is it about what was in the letter?”

An Jiu vigorously nodded her head, pouting. “That's right! I ask you, do you really not care that someone took advantage of me?”

Pei Ji subconsciously replied, “I care.”

If it weren't for the fact that she and Ming Yi were alone together in the hot springs, he wouldn't have followed.

Just thinking about someone else touching her made him want to kill.

She was his, and no one else was allowed to touch her.

But... Fei Yi is him, and Pei Ji is also him. Since they are both him, how could he mind himself?

This was a bit too difficult for Pei Ji.

“If you care, then why don't you believe me?” the girl persisted, continuing to question him.

Pei Ji pondered for a long time before slowly saying, “I believe you.”

Upon hearing this, the girl immediately broke into a smile, her beautiful peach blossom eyes curving into crescents, her red lips upturned, more beautiful than the crabapple blossoms above.

“Okay, since you believe me, then kiss me.”

An Jiu tilted her little face up, smiling sweetly.

The man's body trembled, his long, narrow black eyes widening slightly, unable to hide his surprise. “Why would I...kiss you?”

The last two words were mumbled, as if rolling from the back of his throat.

An Jiu rolled her eyes, raised a finger, and tapped the man's chest, exasperated. “How can you not understand this? If he really kissed me, how unlucky would I be! You should kiss me and cleanse me, then I'll feel better.”

Having said that, she paused, looking at him suspiciously. “Or, do you dislike me?”

The fingertip lightly tapping his chest wasn't forceful, poking gently at his heart. Occasionally, it would unintentionally trace a line, and Pei Ji felt as if his heart was being poked.

He swallowed, loosening his grip on the girl's hand slightly, and took a step back. “I don't dislike you.”

The girl, however, didn't seem to notice his subtle avoidance. Seeing him step back, she immediately stepped forward, pressing herself against him again.

She was only wearing a bathrobe. Although it was modest, the fabric wasn't thick, and when they were close, they could feel each other's body heat.

“Since you don't dislike me, why won't you kiss me?”

An Jiu tilted her head up. Her naturally beautiful face, even more flawless after the hot spring, was incredibly white and delicate. Her upturned nose and red, full lips were alluring, like ripe cherries begging to be picked.

Those red lips opened and closed, uttering seductive words.

  “Or, are you afraid?”

Pei Ji looked away, his gaze falling on the crabapple tree nearby. His eyes flickered. “This...is improper."

As he spoke, he took another step back.

The young lady, however, didn't care at all, speaking defiantly. “What's proper or improper? I don't care! I even dared to elope, what's this?”

She pressed herself against him again, her warm body snuggling into his embrace like a dodder vine that needs a tree to stand, soft and boneless.

Pei Ji had the feeling that if he let go of her, she might fall to the ground. Because of this, he didn't dare to take his hand away, and could only keep his arm around her, preventing her from falling.

If she really did fall, she would probably burst into tears and throw another huge tantrum.

Pei Ji had a deep understanding of the young lady's temperament. When it came to caring for this spoiled woman, probably no one had more experience than him.

His thin lips moved slightly, still wanting to refuse. “I…”

Suddenly, a chill touched his face. The mask he was wearing was suddenly removed. Pei Ji lifted his eyelids and saw the girl's slender fingers gripping the edge of the silver mask, her bright eyes curiously examining it.

Then, those eyes turned to his face, a satisfied expression appearing between her brows. “This is much better.”

Pei Ji's long eyelashes drooped as he silently observed the girl's expression.

  This face...wasn't his.

It was a completely unfamiliar face, one he had designed specifically for her. It was clear she did like it.

She disliked Pei Ji, even finding him dirty to the point of wanting ‘Fei Yi’ to cleanse her.

Perhaps seeing his silence, the girl's expression suddenly changed. She abruptly pulled away, waving her hand. “Hmph, if you don't want to, then forget it!”

She was clearly quite angry, turning and walking quickly towards the house.

The young lady had a bad temper; she changed her mind easily.

Pei Ji was momentarily stunned, frozen in place. The warm feeling in his arms suddenly vanished, replaced by a cold gust of wind. A few petals fell from the crabapple tree, leaving only emptiness and loneliness in the courtyard.

He reacted slowly and chased after her. Entering the room, he saw the girl leaning against the chaise lounge by the window, lying on her side facing away, her long hair trailing behind her.

Pei Ji walked slowly towards her. The girl heard his footsteps and sullenly said, “Go away! I don't want to see you!”

Pei Ji paused, then continued walking, stopping in front of the chaise lounge.

An Jiu felt the movement and turned around angrily. “What are you doing here? Don't you dislike me... ugh!”

The man's brows were slightly lowered, his eyes clear, profound, and dark.

He supported himself with one hand on the edge of the chaise lounge, and with the other, he gently lifted the girl's pointed chin, his fingertip pressing just below her lower lip. He suddenly leaned down.

Outside the window, the flowering weeping crabapple trees were in full bloom. Pink petals drifted in with the breeze, falling into the entwined hair and clothes of the two, the soft pink contrasting against pure white and deep black—adding an extra touch of enchantment.

The crabapple blossoms were scentless, but the girl's lips held a strange sweetness that lingered in his nose.

After a long moment, he gently released her, creating a small distance. His eyes were deep as he looked at her, saying word by word, “I don't dislike you. Do you believe me now?”

An Jiu breathed lightly, her eyes shimmering with moisture, her cheeks flushed unnaturally.

Her lips felt a tingling numbness, as if ants were crawling on them. She couldn't help but lick her lips, and the next moment, she saw the man's eyes darken, a sense of danger washing over her.

  “I, I believe…”

Before she could finish, his hot lips covered hers again, fiercely.

“I can't get enough. I need to cleanse you again.”

The man's voice was hoarse. He sucked hard on her lips and tongue, his grip on her fingers burning hot.

  “Ugh... enough... enough…”

An Jiu weakly clutched at the man's clothes, her voice a jumble of broken syllables. She was quickly silenced, leaving only the soft, intimate sounds to echo in the air.

The sounds reached her ears, causing her to blush, her eyes reddening, and a thin layer of tears welling up.

The room was silent, only two figures, one black and one white, intertwined by the window. Sunlight streamed in from outside, casting two long shadows on the floor.

After a long, long time, the intertwined shadows separated.

Unknowingly, An Jiu had slumped against the chaise lounge, her fingers limp, her whole body lacking strength.

It took her a long time to catch her breath. Just as An Jiu straightened up, the hand supporting her waist quickly withdrew.

The man sat back on the chaise lounge with a righteous expression, avoiding eye contact. With that upright and proper face, he actually looked like a virtuous gentleman.

Unfortunately, his acting wasn't quite up to par. Underneath the guise of a virtuous gentleman, he was still that brutal villain.

A moment ago, An Jiu thought he was going to swallow her whole.

Licking her numb lips, An Jiu shyly lowered her eyes, gazing at the crabapple blossoms outside the window. She softly said, “Why...were you so forceful just now?”

The moment she spoke, she realized how soft and alluring her voice sounded, and her cheeks flushed even redder.

The man, sitting upright, swallowed hard, his eyelashes fluttering, but he still didn't look at her. His gaze was fixed on the empty space in front of him as he said in a low voice, “I'm sorry, I overstepped.”

“It's okay... I asked for it anyway.”

The girl's voice was soft and gentle, incredibly understanding, a stark contrast to her previous stubbornness.

Pei Ji's eyes were bewildered. He had been prepared for her to get angry. Initially, he had been ‘forced,’ but later, he hadn't been able to control himself, becoming too greedy. Unexpectedly, he received such a gentle response, causing a moment of realization.

So, this is how men coax women?

Regardless of Pei Ji's inner thoughts, An Jiu seemed to be completely ‘coaxed.’

The two sat on the chaise lounge, one looking out the window, the other looking inside. Although they were less than half a meter apart, neither looked at the other, speaking in a way that tried to cover up their true feelings.

“Fei Yi, are you also in the Jinshe Villa now?”

“Yes, but I usually don't show myself. I have tasks to attend to.”

“I'm going to see the lanterns tonight. Will you come with me?”

Pei Ji was silent for a moment before saying, “You have someone with you.”

He had heard her say earlier that morning that she was going to see the lantern festival with Ming Yi.

A hint of laughter was in the girl's voice as she said sweetly, “I'll just get rid of him later. I want to see the lanterns with you. Okay?”

Pei Ji's sleeve, which was hanging down on the chaise lounge, was gently tugged. He glanced down and saw the girl's slender, pink fingertips resting on the dark-colored fabric, as delicate as a newly blooming crabapple blossom.

The man's eyelashes fluttered slightly, and he remained silent for a long time.

“Okay?” Another sweet, almost honeyed call, “I only like you.”

  “...Okay.”

A gust of wind blew, rustling the branches. In the dazzling, shifting light and shadow, Pei Ji heard himself say these words.
