Spoiled Eldest Miss x Two-faced Madman
CHAPTER 130 – Extra 5: He Finally Found His Redemption.
From that day on, Pei Ji’s title was set. He officially became An Jiu’s boyfriend.
He was extremely insecure, always feeling like An Jiu didn’t really love him, and guarded her from any guy who got too close.
Xu Xize took the biggest hit.
Even after explaining that nothing happened that day and it was all just a visual misunderstanding from a bad angle, Pei Ji still gave him the cold shoulder.
Xu Xize was genuinely scared of Pei Ji. An Jiu only realized this much later.
When she asked why, Xu Xize said, “Sis, you don’t get it. After that day, everything went downhill for me. My car broke down in the middle of nowhere, no villages nearby, no signal to call a tow truck. When I finally made it somewhere, I got mugged in broad daylight. Tell me, how could I not be scared of him?”
An Jiu: “...That probably has nothing to do with Pei Ji, right?”
“No matter if it’s related or not, I must just clash with Brother Pei’s energy.”
So gradually, all the other guys around An Jiu disappeared, leaving only Pei Ji.
In order to stay in Bincheng long-term, Fengren Pharmaceuticals and the An family started working together. Pei Ji started showing up at the company every day like he owned the place, rain or shine, picking An Jiu up and dropping her off. Their relationship was quickly made public.
After things stabilized between them, An Jiu happened to meet Pei Ji’s parents one day.
They were a refined-looking middle-aged couple. Pei’s dad looked like a slim university professor, and his mom had that calm, elegant vibe. Apparently, they’d known each other since they were kids and were childhood sweethearts.
The couple seemed really close. The very first thing they asked An Jiu was when she and Pei Ji planned to get married.
An Jiu glanced at Pei Ji sitting calmly next to her. She knew him well enough by now to tell, just from his face, that this meeting wasn’t random at all.
Just like that time they ‘bumped into’ An Qing at the restaurant. She found out later it was all part of his plan.
He’d done it to stand up for her, to make her happy, and to use An Qing’s mouth to get himself a good word in with the old man.
And things had gone exactly as he’d hoped. That day, An Jiu really did talk to the old man about him.
Every move he made always had more than one layer of meaning. This guy was seriously full of schemes.
“Marriage is still a bit far off, I’m only twenty. No need to rush,” An Jiu said with a smile, facing their eager questions.
Then she saw Pei Ji’s face freeze a little.
She’d hit a sore spot, and An Jiu couldn’t help but laugh to herself.
Unlike the book version where they were the same age, in this world, Pei Ji was seven years older than her. He was already twenty-seven.
With how insecure he was, there was no way he wouldn’t care about the age gap.
Pei’s parents didn’t push, just asked casually. Later, they even visited Grandpa An at home, marking the first official meeting between the two families.
It was a family dinner. An Yue came with An Qing. Throughout the whole meal, An Jiu barely lifted a finger. Pei Ji was the one doing everything — peeling shrimp, pouring water, handing her tissues, serving dishes, wiping her hands. He was running around like a busy little helper, practically treating An Jiu like royalty. An Yue’s eyes nearly popped out.
After the meal, An Jiu’s phone buzzed.
An Yue: I seriously respect you.
An Jiu: ?
An Yue: You even managed to train someone like Pei Ji. You’re honestly amazing.
An Jiu replied with a smiling emoji.
They officially got married when An Jiu was twenty-two and Pei Ji was twenty-nine.
Even though the man was dying to marry her and secretly kept nudging her about it not long after they got together, he never actually brought it up himself. He never once pressured her.
Marriage was something An Jiu decided on her own.
That year, the old man’s health started to go downhill. An Jiu wanted him to see her get married. She also planned to start preparing for a baby after the wedding, hoping the old man could see his great-grandchild born. Maybe if he was in a better mood, he’d live a few more years.
The wedding was grand. Not just the wedding — even the proposal was over the top. Pei Ji gave her an entire island covered in roses.
He bought that island the year they met. It was covered in endless fields of red roses and had a massive snow-white castle that looked straight out of a fairytale. It was so beautiful, it felt like a dream.
The wedding was held on that rose island. Tons of business elites were invited. It even made the news, and videos of the wedding flooded every social media platform. Though green with envy, everyone still rushed to send their blessings—at least on the surface.
Pei Ji was always the type to announce his love to the whole world.
Back in the other world, he had already made their wedding a huge deal in the entire Medicine King Valley. Now, he was still the same.
As if once he was happy, the whole world had to know about it.
Everyone thought he’d be thrilled now that they were finally getting married. But as the wedding date got closer, An Jiu noticed something.
Pei Ji was becoming quieter and more distant.
He often spaced out and clung to her more than ever. The moment she left his sight, he’d panic like crazy. After getting caught acting like that a few times, everyone just teased him for being henpecked. (T/N: Poor guy, he must be traumatized.)
Everyone said he was head over heels for her.
Only An Jiu realized why he was acting that way.
She didn’t say anything, just like what she told him that night at the bar—she had given him a chance to find the answer, but he was the one who gave it up.
The Western-style wedding was the only thing Pei Ji requested.
On the wedding day, he didn’t look any different. Dressed in a pure white suit, standing inside the church, he looked like a real-life prince straight out of a fairytale.
All the guests were seated below. An Jiu held her grandfather’s hand as she slowly walked toward him.
When her hand was placed in his, and they listened to the priest reading the vows, she could feel how cold and how much his hand trembled as it held hers.
And when she finally said “I do” out loud, with all eyes on them, everyone saw the groom’s eyes turn red.
His love for her was obvious. No one could deny it.
After the wedding came the wedding night. There’s no such custom in a Western-style wedding, but still, no one would disturb the newlyweds that evening.
They returned to the bridal suite. The night was peaceful. From the castle window, you could see the sea of flowers stretching far beyond the horizon.
A gentle breeze carried the scent of roses mixed with the faint smell of alcohol on the man’s body.
He hadn’t drunk much today. Not many dared to toast with him, so both of them were still quite clear-headed.
An Jiu stood by the window, wearing a light robe, and softly called out to him, “Pei Ji.”
No one would have guessed that even after two years of dating, the most they’d done was kiss. They never went any further. There were moments when things got heated, but he always stopped himself in time.
He walked over to her step by step and pulled her into his arms from behind.
“Wifey.”
He leaned close to her ear and murmured like a clingy puppy, his lips gently brushing against her ear and hair.
An Jiu turned her face slightly and reached back to caress his cheek.
“Wanna consummate our marriage?” she asked softly.
Pei Ji’s body suddenly froze. The only sound in the room was their breathing.
She could hear his breath growing heavier behind her. He stayed silent for a long time. After what felt like forever, he finally spoke in a strained voice, “Sorry… I…”
He wanted to say he probably couldn’t do it.
That knot in his heart, those scenes that haunted him night after night, never really left. They had become a recurring nightmare that tormented him.
He couldn’t handle seeing too much red. He didn’t dare go any further with her. Even though he knew deep down that the past wouldn’t repeat itself, he still couldn’t get past that hurdle in his heart.
Before the wedding, he even saw a therapist, but nothing worked. He couldn’t untangle it.
The therapist said only the one who tied the knot could untie it.
But she didn’t remember anything. She didn’t know what had happened. Only he was left trapped in the shadows of the past, struggling in vain like a beast in a cage.
In a place no one could see, pain filled the depths of his dark eyes.
“Pei Ji.” Her gentle voice suddenly broke through his heavy thoughts and pulled him back.
He gave a low hum and buried his face in the crook of her neck.
An Jiu lowered her hand and gently rested it on the back of his hand that was wrapped around her waist. Slowly, she laced her fingers with his.
“I’m not going to leave again,” she said.
Pei Ji’s body stiffened, a flash of disbelief in his eyes.
With her back to him, her voice kept flowing in like a stream. “Loving you was real. Hating you wasn’t. I thought saying those things would make you hate me.”
Pei Ji couldn’t hold back anymore. His arms tightened around her, hugging her so close it felt like he wanted to fuse her into his bones, make her a part of him.
“All I wanted… was for you to live.”
An Jiu whispered softly.
A sudden sharp pain hit her shoulder. The man sank his teeth into her skin, hard, like he was letting out all the emotions he’d been holding in.
His usually calm and handsome face was now soaked in tears. His dark eyes had turned red, and thick, heavy drops slid down his cheeks, falling onto her shoulder and soaking through her clothes.
An Jiu stayed silent, not moving, letting him do what he needed.
But Pei Ji didn’t bite for long. He quickly let go and began kissing the bite mark gently, almost as if trying to erase the pain he caused.
“I could never hate you. Never. If you were gone, what would be the point of me being alive?”
His voice was hoarse, shaking with emotion.
Her shoulder was soaked. She could feel the way his chest trembled with each word, the rapid beat of his heart pressed against her back. It all pulsed straight into her own.
“If you ever leave again, take me with you?”
“Okay... I won’t leave you behind ever again.”
It was a soft promise, but she knew it would last a lifetime.
In the ruins of Pei Ji’s heart, where there had only been cold winters and endless dark, the sun finally rose again. Life quietly returned, flowers bloomed, and hope took root.
In that moment, he finally found his redemption.
-The End- (?)🤔

T/N: Yay, we finally finished this novel. Wohooo! After almost four months of translating, it's officially done. Now I'm going to rest for a week while hunting for a new one. I think I’m leaning toward something modern with a comedy tag. I seriously need a good laugh after this book!! 😂
Update: Wed, Sep 24 - Psst, so… are there any lovely, beautiful, pretty readers who can help me and our fellow readers? Tee-hee, nothing much… just, um, this novel has one tiny last chapter… ahem, it’s called “The Fifth Wedding” or something… so, any help? (looks hopeful 🥺) Tried searching for it myself these past few days but, yeah… no luck…

ReplyDeleteOh gosh, thank you 🥰 Honestly, I keep doubting if my translation is even okay. I feel like I can do much better—your words really reassure me!

DeleteThank you for translating. It was an amazing read. I love gut-punching romance and I'm deeply satisfied...for now.
ReplyDeleteYou’re very welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed the ride. That gut-punching feeling is exactly why this story sticks with you 😏
DeleteHello translator! First of all, I wanted to thank you for translating this beautiful chinese novel that made us laugh and cry at the same time. It was a roller coaster of emotions and indeed the author played with our feelings and keep torturing Pei Ji. I am a silent reader myself and I also enjoy your cute remarks every now and then making it feel like we are not alone reading this novel and journey of the story. I just finish reading the novel. Tho I could have finished it earlier, it's just that I let it marinate it to completion and hoping I won't be brought to tears knowing what's coming due to author's whims of wanting to hurt Pei Ji. But alas, even if I took my time off, the moment I cameback on the part of their wedding in the Medical Valley, still brought me to tears so much even to this ending due to his trauma. It's bittersweet but I'm kinda glad the author add this modern ending. Since if it stops of her dying in the end and never get this modern ending, I might resent the author and story as a whole. Thank you once again.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, thank you so much for sharing this 🥺 Your words really touched me. I totally agree—the author really dragged our hearts through so many ups and downs, and poor Pei Ji carried so much pain. I’m glad too that we got that modern ending, otherwise it would’ve been way too cruel. I’m so happy you enjoyed both the translation and my little comments along the way. It feels like we all went through this journey together. 💕
DeleteVery satisfying story! Thanks for translating it.
ReplyDeleteI’m really happy you enjoyed it! 💕 Thanks for reading it till the end — your comment made my day! 😁👍
DeleteThis novel had me on a ride!🤣.
ReplyDeleteAt first, I didn't want to read it because from the synopsis till the first chapters, the female character was someone that would definitely NOT remain in the novel world which means there was a 70-80% chance the leads won't end up together. Anyways, I continued until it got til the 80th or 90th chapter when I actually wished she would leave the world and make him sufferrr (ml was a crazy psycho🤣) but when the actual event happened, I cried so badly (like the author wanted us to pity him). Anyways, we got our happy ending yayy🤭.
And I want to say a big thank you to the translator, the translations were chefs kiss and the translator's note often made me crack up. Well, I'm off to read another novel translated by xyn~🤭
Aww, thank you so much 😭💖 I totally get what you mean — I also wanted her to run at first, but when it actually happened… ouch, it really hurt. The author played with our hearts so bad 😭 Anyway, I’m so happy you enjoyed both the story and my notes! Have fun reading the next one~ 🤭
DeleteOh, and sorry your comment didn’t appear twice! Sigh, Blogger sometimes blocks it as “spam.” But don’t worry, I can still see it and un-spam your comment when I reply. It must’ve been frustrating to finally write something only for Blogger to pull a trick like that! 😫 Anyway, I truly appreciate every comment that’s shared on my blog. Thank you 💕
I also want to thank you for bringing us this gem. I love my yandere male leads, especially when they're clingy. Pei Ji was the right kind of yandere versus white lotus (that blind man really knew him well when he gave him that mask). I cried when FL died in his arms... I was looking forward to it but it also hurt...cause our ML really did suffer through three lifetimes. Anyway it was angsty and funny and scary....cause Fei Yi girlllll I was actually scared at some points in the story (and I still loved it). I'm glad Pei Ji will have the chance to name their children...🥲🥲🥲
ReplyDeleteAwh thank you so much 🥹 I’m really glad you enjoyed it! Pei Ji’s clingy, obsessive kind of love hits that perfect bittersweet spot—painful but tender at the same time. And yes, Fei Yi really gave us horror movie energy for a while 😭 I’m so happy you felt all those emotions with them till the end.
DeleteWait what?? Named their children?? 😭😭 Spill!! Where did you read that?? I need to read it too!! 🥺✨
lol thanks for the translation. he said before the original marriage that he had been thinking of baby names. we didn't get any samples though lol
DeleteAhhh, that part! Haha, I actually forgot about it already. Hehe, thanks for reminding me. To be honest… there’s still one more missing chapter. 😭 I haven’t been able to get my hands on it yet… still waiting for an angel to help us out. Haha.
DeleteThank you 😆😆😆
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome 🤗😁
DeleteThank you, dear angel translator for putting in the hard work and effort to create this seamless translation. Thoroughly enjoyed it and I appreciate you💗💗💗
ReplyDeleteThank you so much 🥹💗 Your words really mean a lot to me. I’m so glad you enjoyed the story and the translation—it makes all the effort feel worth it. I truly appreciate you too!
DeleteI don’t comment usually on any story but on this one I just had to. I have laughed, giggled and cried as if my heart was broken while reading this. I came across this website while via MDCM but all your translations are so good and such good picks that I am hooked. Thank you Author-nim for your efforts!! Hope to read more of your work.💕
ReplyDeleteAww, thank you so much 🥹💖 I’m really glad this story made you laugh, cry, and giggle along the way! It means a lot that you took the time to comment even though you usually don’t. I’ll keep working hard, so I hope you’ll enjoy my future translations too! 💕
DeleteI'm a bit late to this and couldn't follow as you uploaded but I still wanted to say thank you for the translation and your hard work. I'm following one of your currently updating stories now and found this while waiting for updates. Will be checking out others. Take care of yourself~ ^-^
ReplyDeleteThank you so much 🥹💖 It means a lot that you came back to leave a comment even after finishing it late. I’m really happy you’re enjoying my other ongoing translation too! Hope you have fun exploring the rest, and please take care as well~ ^-^
DeleteYay! I finish this novel today.
ReplyDeleteTruly you always pick good stories to translate. I shouldn’t have doubted you~ 😘
Thank you for such a marvelous job translating this. Hope you don’t mind that I often read novels only after it’s completed. Really hate cliffhangers and prefer to binge read 😂
Haha no worries at all 🤭 binge-reading is the best way to avoid suffering through cliffhangers 😂 I’m really glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for trusting my picks 🥰
