Time-Travel: The Tragic Cannon Fodder Female Supporting Character Makes a Comeback

CHAPTER 144: The Pretty Educated Youth in the 1970s (12)

Xia Shuang’s mind went blank, and her face grew unbearably hot.

What did he mean by saying he’d washed up properly...?

But as soon as the man finished speaking, he kissed her urgently, lingering between her lips and teeth as though he couldn’t bear to pull away.

Xia Shuang was surrounded by his scent. She had no choice but to tilt her head back and respond to his kisses.

After kissing for quite some time, they finally parted, both breathing heavily.

Xia Shuang turned her head to catch her breath. Her heart was racing, and her chest rose and fell with every breath.

The man’s lips traveled lower, exploring unfamiliar territory for the first time...

  “Mm!”

Xia Shuang grabbed a fistful of his hair, her cheeks flushed. “Don’t bite...”

Since she wouldn’t let him bite there, the man promptly moved elsewhere, setting off sparks wherever his lips landed...

  “Mm...”

  ……

With plenty of foreplay, it wasn’t as painful as she had imagined.

The man was considerate and knew what he was doing. Although he looked lean, his body was all firm, well-defined muscle.

Xia Shuang had never endured anything so overwhelming before. Her hands and feet even began to cramp slightly. Though she bit down hard on her lower lip, little broken sounds still escaped her.

  ……

  The next morning.

The sunlight was already falling across her face by the time Xia Shuang finally woke up, shielding her eyes with one hand.

Her throat was so dry it felt like it was smoking, and her entire body was terribly sore and limp. For some reason, memories of last night’s very much not-for-children activities suddenly popped into her mind.

Even someone as worldly as her couldn’t help blushing.

Jiang Jin was such a secretly passionate man. On the surface, he looked cool and aloof, hardly ever saying much. But in other areas, he was exceptionally gifted. He hadn’t stopped until she was practically begging for mercy.

If he hadn’t fumbled around a little last night, she might have thought he was some experienced ladies’ man.

Still, as exhausting as it had been, she couldn’t deny that she’d enjoyed herself too.

Xia Shuang couldn’t be bothered to move a muscle. Seeing that there was no one else in the room, she took a restorative pill out of her personal space and swallowed it.

As soon as she finished, she propped herself up on the bed and stretched lazily.

Jiang Jin hurried inside and immediately shut the door. Seeing that Xia Shuang was awake, he set the two bowls he was carrying on the table, then gently eased her back down.

He tucked her exposed fair arm back under the blanket, and carefully straightened the covers around her.

“Stay warm before getting up. I’ll warm up your clothes by the fire so they won’t feel cold when you put them on.”

Xia Shuang glanced at the two bowls on the table. “What’s that?”

“Tomato and egg drop soup, and brown sugar water made with hot water. They’re still too hot, so wait a little before drinking.”

After speaking, Jiang Jin remembered the bedsheet he had changed in the middle of the night. He had washed it earlier, but it was still sitting in the basin, waiting to be hung up.

“I’ll go warm your clothes and hang up the bedsheet while I’m at it. Lie down a little longer.”

With that, Jiang Jin gathered up Xia Shuang’s clothes and went outside.

The weather was still cold, so Xia Shuang stayed curled up under the blanket instead of getting out of bed.

A little while later, Jiang Jin returned with her clothes bundled in his arms.

He came inside, shut the door securely, and walked straight over to the bed.

“Your clothes are nice and warm. Go ahead and put them on, then we’ll eat.”

After speaking, Jiang Jin didn’t wait around to watch her get dressed. Instead, he picked up a spoon and checked whether the brown sugar water and tomato egg drop soup were still too hot.

Xia Shuang slipped out from under the blanket, rubbed her arms, and quickly got dressed.

As she dressed, she noticed the love bites left across her skin by a certain someone who had been rather insatiable last night.

Never mind. He was a young man in his prime, after all. It was only natural for him to get a little carried away. Besides, her clothes would cover them, so it wasn’t a big deal.

Once she was dressed, Xia Shuang was about to get out of bed when she saw Jiang Jin carrying the table over to her.

“Just eat here by the bed. After you’re done, I’ll massage your legs.”

The moment Xia Shuang heard that, she immediately looked up and shot him an affectionate, reproachful glare.

Only Jiang Jin could manage to make her legs cramp on their wedding night. What an achievement.

Knowing full well that he was in the wrong, Jiang Jin rubbed his nose and leaned over to massage her legs. “I’m sorry. I’ll be more careful next time. Have something to eat first and warm up your stomach.”

Xia Shuang didn’t bother responding. She simply let him massage her calves while taking a few sips of the brown sugar water. It tasted pretty good, sweet and warm.

The tomato and egg drop soup looked appetizing too. The tomato flavor was rich, and the soup was full of egg, with little lumps of white wheat flour throughout.

He had probably fried the tomatoes in oil first. Every spoonful was deeply satisfying.

Xia Shuang hadn’t eaten much yesterday, and after all the energy she’d used up, she was genuinely hungry.

In the end, Xia Shuang polished off everything in both bowls.

Rubbing her stomach contentedly, she sighed, “That hit the spot.”

Seeing how satisfied she looked, Jiang Jin smiled. “I’m glad you like it. I’ll make it for you whenever I have time.”

Xia Shuang gave him an approving look. “I’ll remember that. You’d better keep up the good work from now on.”

“Just tell me what you want to eat, and I’ll make it for you.”

After saying that, Jiang Jin gestured for her to switch legs so he could massage the other one.

His workplace had granted him three days of wedding leave, so he didn’t have to go to work.

Xia Shuang switched legs and glanced out the window. “Are Mom and Dad around? Have you all eaten yet?”

“They’ve already eaten and gone to work. There’s no one else at home now.”

Xia Shuang breathed a sigh of relief. Good, that was a relief.

Although her parents-in-law were both kind and easygoing, getting up so late, with the sun already high in the sky, would have been terribly embarrassing if she had to face them around the house.

Jiang Jin seemed to guess what she was thinking and smiled reassuringly. “There aren’t that many rules in this family. Mom and Dad both eat at the factory canteen, and they don’t spend much time at home anyway.

“If you want to sleep in, then sleep in. If you feel like it, I’ll cook something at home for us to eat. If not, there’s a canteen out in the neighborhood. We’ll do whatever makes you comfortable.”

Hearing this, Xia Shuang’s lips curled into a smile. She wrapped her little hands around his arm, leaned over, and planted a quick kiss on him.

“Jiang Jin, you understand me so well. Love you!”

Although Xia Shuang could be a little temperamental at times, she had never acted this sweet and coquettish before.

Jiang Jin’s face turned bright red, but the corners of his mouth curled upward. He lowered his head and kissed her forehead in return.

  “Mm, I... love you too.”

Hearing how stiffly he managed to say it, Xia Shuang found him unexpectedly adorable and reached out to pinch his cheek.

The first attempt didn’t even budge it.

When she tried a second time, Jiang Jin hissed and asked in a low voice, “Wife, did I say something wrong?”

Xia Shuang hurriedly rubbed his cheek to soothe it, then laughed awkwardly. “No! I was just testing how it feels. Other people’s cheeks are soft, so how come even your face is so hard?”

Hearing this, Jiang Jin raised a hand to feel his wife’s soft cheek and said with a smile, “Wife, how come you’re soft everywhere?”

Xia Shuang immediately took his words the wrong way and hurriedly covered his mouth with her hand. “All right, let’s drop this topic.”

Jiang Jin looked puzzled. He gently held her little hand in his large one.

Xia Shuang glanced at him, then turned her palm upward. “My hand’s sore too. Give it a massage.”

With that, she settled comfortably with her head resting on Jiang Jin’s lap, lounging like a spoiled queen while he obediently massaged her hand.

Jiang Jin took the task seriously. Seeing how slender her fingers were, he worried he might rub them raw or leave them red, so he even went to fetch some medicated red flower oil.

He carefully massaged her hands, applying the oil in slow, circular motions.

With her stomach full and the warm sunlight shining down on her, Xia Shuang found the massage so comfortable that she soon closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep again.

Jiang Jin tucked the blanket around her, then smiled and brushed the loose strands of hair away from her cheek before kissing her fair, clean face.

He pulled over a stool and sat beside the bed, continuing to massage both her hands with utmost care. In the end, he even massaged her feet.
