CHAPTER 75: Has She Gotten Addicted to Kissing?

The moment their lips met, Chu Ling felt an electric tingle run through her entire body, leaving her pleasantly numb.

Her mind went blank for a moment, and even the hand clutching Sheng Yi’s collar felt a little weak.

After Sheng Yi kissed her, he only glanced at her briefly before lowering his head and closing his eyes.

But he was clearly a little clumsy. His lips stayed pressed against hers, as if unsure what to do next.

The NPC reminded them, “You can’t just press your lips together. The requirement is a kiss.”

  They were already kissing.

Might as well go all in.

Chu Ling steeled herself, tiptoed a little closer, and deepened the kiss.

Sheng Yi stiffened for a moment, then slowly and gently returned her kiss.

  【They’re kissing! They’re really kissing!】

【I didn’t expect it… Yesterday during the livestream, 11 still seemed a little shy. Huge props to the production team!】

The NPC reminded both couples, “Do not break apart, and do not take a breath in the middle.”

Chu Ling had only practiced kissing in theory. At first, she tried to approach with confidence, but after a few seconds, she felt completely overwhelmed. Her mind went blank, her body softened, and she almost couldn’t stand.

Luckily, Sheng Yi supported the back of her head, keeping her from falling.

Their breaths intertwined and tangled, drawing energy from each other. Chu Ling could feel her heart pounding fiercely in her chest, every beat echoing in her ears.

Her heart was racing so fast.

It was almost impossible to breathe.

Chu Ling’s instinct was to pull back, but Sheng Yi pressed her closer and deepened the kiss.

She shivered all over and suddenly understood his intention.

At this point, there was no room for losing.

Her fingertips dug into his collar as she followed his lead, intensifying the kiss.

No one knew how long it lasted, but finally, Yuan Tiantian and Xia Yi couldn’t hold on any longer.

  “I can’t.”

Xia Yi pushed Yuan Tiantian away first, waving her hand. “I’m out of breath.”

They normally loved kissing and showing affection anywhere, anytime, but even they had rarely kissed this long. Usually, a kiss lasted only a few dozen seconds, and if they pushed it, they would take a break to breathe.

They had thought challenging Overbearing CP would be an easy win.

But they had underestimated these two’s competitiveness and overestimated their own stamina.

The NPC announced, “Let’s congratulate Overbearing CP for winning this round of the PK challenge!”

Only then did Chu Ling and Sheng Yi release each other, like waking from a dream.

They had both given it their all. Chu Ling felt a little lightheaded from oxygen deprivation, panting for several seconds before resting her head on Sheng Yi’s shoulder.

Sheng Yi held her close, burying his face in her hair.

【Who says ‘Overbearing CP’ are contract lovers! Which contract couple kisses like this?!】

【Their ears are red from kissing. I’m dead from how sweet this is.】

【After the kiss, they’re hugging too. These two are way too sweet.】

【Sorry, but someone please give them aftercare… Our bully couple is both intense and pure when it comes to romance, who can understand.】

【Who would have guessed these are both first loves for these two shy kids? Love should be this sweet at first.】

Chu Ling took a few seconds to calm down.

She couldn’t believe they had actually kissed, and for so long.

  Her face was still burning.

But… if a first kiss could last this long, she thought maybe she had a little natural talent.

  “…Was that… okay?”

She asked softly, her voice low enough for only Sheng Yi to hear.

Sheng Yi held her close without looking at her expression. After a moment, he just leaned against her and smiled, “I was going to ask you the same thing.”

Chu Ling thought to herself that she could have chosen to forfeit earlier.

She could have made up any reason on the spot. With her words, she could probably turn black into white.

  But she hadn’t.

She hadn’t expected that Sheng Yi would actually kiss her at the very last second.

Or maybe, deep down, she had hoped he would, which was why she gave him the choice.

So this kiss was a silent conspiracy between them, and neither could be blamed.

“These two may have won, but they still seem a little shy.”

The NPC asked, “Is it because this was Sheng Yi’s first on-screen kiss?”

Sheng Yi finally looked up, cleared his throat, and said, “…A little.”

It wasn’t just an on-screen first kiss.

It was literally his first kiss ever.

He acted casual now, but moments ago, every cell in his body had been trembling with nerves.

He hadn’t expected to kiss Chu Ling like this. Part of him felt despicable, but another part felt a small sense of anticipation welled up in him because of her initiative.

He knew Chu Ling well enough to understand that if she didn’t like something, she wouldn’t leave any room for it. Just look at how she had treated Zhou Yu before.

So if she was willing to kiss him, ignoring her competitiveness, could it be that she actually liked him a little too?

The NPC joked, “Looks like we’ll need to have more kissing on the show. The more you kiss, the more you’ll get used to it.”

  【I fully support this!】

【Please, these two have to kiss more. I will pay for it unconditionally!】

【Just watching their faces kiss is a visual feast!】

“But kissing more doesn’t guarantee a win.”

Chu Ling’s brain hadn’t caught up yet, but her mouth had already started teasing, “Like the ‘Made for Each Other’ CP, they must kiss all the time too, right?”

  Xia Yi: “..…”

  Yuan Tiantian: “…..”

Xia Yi hastily defended herself, “It’s our lung capacity! Not the kissing!”

Yuan Tiantian kissed her again and said, “Don’t worry, baby. We’ll practice our lung capacity. Next time we’ll kiss longer!”

  Chu Ling: “..…”

Win or lose, they still showed affection.

These two had picked the perfect competition lane.

Chu Ling and Sheng Yi won the PK challenge and went back to look for the next card.

But both of them were clearly a little distracted.

The kiss, though mutual, had broken some boundaries, creating a subtle shift in their relationship.

Before the tension could linger too long, a new announcement interrupted them.

“The ‘Perfect Match’ group has issued a challenge. Their chosen target is—‘Overbearing CP.’”

Chu Ling raised an eyebrow, “…Are they ganging up on us?”

  Are they some weak opponents?

What she didn’t know was that ten minutes earlier, the ‘Made for Each Other’ CP had found the ‘Perfect Match’ CP and said, “We found this PK card. You can have it if you’re willing to challenge Overbearing CP.”

  Xie Qing was surprised, “Why?”

“Because we just lost to them.”

Losing is losing, and they were actually dragged down.

It was infuriating just thinking about it.

Reluctantly, Xia Yi explained, “This task doesn’t suit us. If we lose again, we’ll be at a big disadvantage. So we’re giving you the card. If you can beat them, it’s both revenge for us and a way to lower their points. It’ll help you too.”

“Do you want to form an alliance with us?”

She added, “Our rule is simple. We can lose, but Overbearing CP cannot win!”

She hadn't expected them to dislike Chu Ling and Sheng Yi so much.

But Xie Qing realized this could be useful, so she agreed happily, “Deal.”

Chu Ling and Sheng Yi arrived at the PK battlefield, surprised to see that besides the ‘Perfect Match’ CP, the ‘Made for Each Other’ CP was also watching.

Chu Ling whispered to Sheng Yi, “…Are we making a lot of enemies?”

It felt like ‘Made for Each Other’ CP had come just to watch them lose.

“…Doesn’t matter. Let’s see what the challenge is.”

  Sheng Yi said.

Xie Qing revealed the challenge card.

  【Task: Endurance Challenge (30 points)】

【The girl leans against a wall in a squat, the boy sits on her legs. The couple who lasts longer wins.】

Chu Ling blinked, “…So the girl has to squat and hold the boy on her legs?”

  NPC: “Yes.”

Xie Qing had known why ‘Made for Each Other’ CP hadn’t taken this challenge. To complete it, the girl had to hold the boy, and Xia Yi’s petite size made it nearly impossible compared to the ‘Perfect Match’ CP.

But the body size difference between ‘Perfect Match’ CP and Overbearing CP were similar in size, or even slightly smaller.

Comparing them... they should still have a good chance of winning.

Sheng Yi’s expression darkened when he first saw the rules.

The idea of Chu Ling supporting his full weight was exhausting just to imagine.

  “Can you do it?”

He Ming chuckled, “If not, you can forfeit. No point in struggling and still losing 30 points.”

Chu Ling said firmly, “Sorry, but there’s no ‘forfeit’ in Overbearing CP’s dictionary.”

They hadn’t forfeited during the kissing task.

There was no way they would now.

Sheng Yi asked, “Are you really okay with this?”

“Underestimating me, are you? I have plenty of stamina.”

Chu Ling rubbed her hands together, “Let’s go.”

The challenge was about to begin.

Chu Ling leaned against the wall, squatted down, and held a strong stance.

Sheng Yi sat sideways on her legs, hands resting on her shoulders for support.

He tried to balance against the wall to reduce pressure on her legs.

Sheng Yi whispered, “If it’s too much, tell me. Don’t push yourself.”

“I know,” Chu Ling smiled. “It’s just a show. I’m not risking my life here.”

Next to them, the ‘Perfect Match’ CP had He Ming straddling Xie Qing face to face, looking extremely close and intimate.

The NPC announced, “The match begins!”

At first, it didn’t seem too difficult. In reality, just holding a squat against the wall was tiring enough, not to mention supporting a person on top of that.

Every second of the match felt stretched out painfully long.

Chu Ling tried to distract herself by looking at Sheng Yi’s face.

Whether from nerves or to avoid bursting into laughter, Sheng Yi’s gaze wandered elsewhere, not meeting hers.

Chu Ling decided to boldly study him anyway.

Her eyes swept over his face, from his eyes to his nose, finally resting on his lips.

They had kissed just moments ago.

Thinking about that made her heart flutter again.

Coincidentally, over at the ‘Perfect Match’ CP, Xie Qing was complaining about being tired.

Without hesitation, He Ming leaned down and kissed her, a clear gesture of encouragement.

Chu Ling couldn’t help but glance at Sheng Yi’s lips again.

  Damn it.

Had she just gotten addicted to kissing?

And now… she even wanted to kiss Sheng Yi.

Although kissing him had been comfortable, they clearly weren’t in a relationship where a kiss could be casually used as motivation.

“…Say something to distract me,” Chu Ling muttered to Sheng Yi.

She was afraid that if her mind wandered, she might accidentally lean in and kiss him again.

Sheng Yi asked, “How are you feeling right now?”

Chu Ling replied, “I’m fine. I can keep going.”

“You’ve lasted longer than I expected. From my perspective, you’ve already done really well,” he said.

“But do you remember the day you visited our rehearsal room, the day you played the drums?”

Sheng Yi continued, “I said before that drumming requires a lot of stamina, or you won’t last long. What I didn’t say was, as a beginner, the fact that you could play that long on your first day already surpassed most people. That’s when I realized you must have great stamina and strength.”

He spoke quickly, almost blurting out everything on his mind, just to help distract Chu Ling and make her feel lighter.

Chu Ling recalled Sheng Yi teaching her to play the drums that day, and her heart felt a flutter again. “Really—”

Before she could finish, a shout came from beside them. Xie Qing couldn’t hold on any longer, and He Ming fell to the floor.

“Sorry,” Xie Qing said, shaking her hands, “I really can’t go on.”

He Ming’s face looked a little unhappy.

Sheng Yi immediately jumped off Chu Ling and steadied her.

Her legs were weak, and she leaned against him, lips a little pale.

Even though she was exhausted, she lifted her chin and, as always, held her head high. She echoed what He Ming had just said without missing a beat, “Wouldn’t it have been better not to use the PK card at all? Going through all that and still losing thirty points is just not worth it.”

T/N: I’ve read all your comments—thank you so much for the kind words! I really appreciate them. Ah, I forgot to add a glossary about binary couples, didn’t I? Honestly, I was a bit lazy at first, but you guys seem so determined to know. Fine then, I’ll explain it in a simple and easy way. 🀭

…..

Glossary:

“Binary CP (双A, 双强, Binary couple, etc.)” comes from Chinese internet slang, especially from fandom and BL (boys’ love) or CP (couple pairing) culture.

Here’s the breakdown πŸ’‘:

🌐 Origin:

“CP” = short for “Couple pairing” (from the English couple), widely used in Chinese fandoms to describe a romantic pairing, real or fictional.

“Binary CP” (or “Double A”, “双A”) comes from the “ABO” dynamic in BL/romance fiction:

A = Alpha (strong, dominant, assertive)

B = Beta (neutral)

O = Omega (submissive, gentle)

In “Binary CP / 双A CP”, both characters are Alphas — meaning:

Both are powerful, confident, and dominant.

Neither is portrayed as the typical “weaker” or “softer” one in the relationship.

Their dynamic often has tension, competitiveness, and mutual respect.

πŸ’ž Commonly Used To Describe:

Two equally strong characters (mentally or physically).

Couples where both partners are top-tier, assertive, or “king and queen” types.

In idol fandoms, fans use it to describe two popular, equally strong personalities or visuals in a ship.

πŸ’¬ Example:

> “They’re a real Binary CP — both are so confident and powerful when they’re together.”

So in short:

Binary CP = a couple where both are strong, dominant, or equally matched, and yes, it’s 100% born from Chinese internet culture!

——

When netizens say “11” and “00”, they’re absolutely hinting at position dynamics in a CP (couple pairing).

Here’s how it works in Chinese fandom slang:

πŸ’» 1️⃣1️⃣ = εŒζ”» (Double Top / Double Gong)

Both are seen as dominant, strong, or top-type characters.

Usually, fans imagine both having alpha, assertive vibes — like a “Binary CP” we mentioned earlier.

The chemistry is often “power meets power,” with tension, rivalry, and sparks.

Sometimes also used jokingly when both refuse to “lose.” πŸ˜‚

0️⃣0️⃣ = εŒε— (Double Bottom / Double Shou)

Both are viewed as gentle, soft, or bottom-type characters.

Their interaction is sweet, clingy, or “cute meets cute.”

Fandoms love them for being adorable or emotionally close.

⚖️ Where It Comes From:

It’s from numerical representation of positions:

“1” symbolizes the top (ζ”» / gong).

“0” symbolizes the bottom (受 / shou).

So yes, when fans tease saying “they’re 11 or 00,” it’s playful shipping language for whether both act like tops or both like bottoms in that pairing dynamic. 🀭

But when it’s used jokingly in hetero or mixed-gender fandoms (like Sheng Yi × Chu Ling), the meaning becomes more symbolic than literal. It’s about personality vibes or relationship dynamics, not physical roles.

Here’s how it applies in this case:

🌟 Sheng Yi = 11

Fans call him “11” because he gives off “top” energy: bold, takes the lead, teasing and a little possessive.

🌸 Chu Ling = 00

Meanwhile, Chu Ling is labeled “00” because she the “receiver” in contrast, but that does not mean meek. She’s emotionally reserved and appears softer in some scenes, yet she’s razor-sharp with words, fiercely independent, and absolutely not passive. Calling her 00 highlights the contrast in vibe, not weakness.

.....

Update (Fri – Oct 17, 2025):

A reader pointed out that “00” and “11” actually come from the protagonists’ names — Ling (ι›Ά, meaning zero) and Yi (δΈ€, meaning one) — which makes perfect sense for this story! It’s a cute name-based pun that also blends nicely with the BL fandom slang meaning (0 = gentle/passive type, 1 = assertive/dominant type).

So, while the slang adds a fun layer, the main reason here is definitely the name homophone! πŸ€πŸ’ž

  1. thanks for the chapter! omegaverse terms, huh...

  2. I thought it was 00 because of her name (Ling) and 11 because of his name (Yi), so reading abt the omegaverse was interesting!

    1. I'm pretty sure your explanation is the real reason. Ling is homophone for zero and Yi is homophone for one. While 1 is also used for 'top' and 0 is used for 'bottom' in Chinese BL slang, netizens aren't going to use a BL term to refer a het couple. On the flipside, it's very common to form CP names or fandom names based off the celebrities' names in chinese fandom, similar to english fandom using smushnames to represent Hollywood couples. So it being about Yi (1) and Ling (0) makes a lot more sense.

    2. Ooh that’s a really good point! πŸ‘ You’re absolutely right — Chinese fandoms love using name puns and number homophones like that. “Yi” for one and “Ling” for zero fits the 11/00 pairing perfectly! I love how both interpretations ended up blending — the BL slang adds flavor, while the name pun gives it a sweet fandom twist. πŸ€πŸ’ž I’m going to add this to my glossary, thank you!

  3. my first thought with binary cp was about the computer language, as in binary code, since it’s all 1s and 0s lol

    1. Haha same! 🀣 That’s literally my first thought too—“wait, are we talking programming now?” But nope, just fandom numbers doing their cute little pairing thing πŸ˜†πŸ’»πŸ’–
