Time-Travel: The Tragic Cannon Fodder Female Supporting Character Makes a Comeback

CHAPTER 99: The Eldest Sister of the 90s Quits Sacrificing Herself (11)

Liu Kai blushed slightly upon hearing this. Only then did he properly look at Zhao Fuyao.

It was his first time seeing her dressed like this. His ears instantly heated up, and he hurriedly looked away, too embarrassed to stare any longer.

The three of them headed off to the dance hall together.

The makeup Zhao Fuyao had done for herself and Yang Jiale leaned toward a more mature style. Combined with Yang Jiale’s tall height, the two girls passed through the entrance smoothly. Following the crowd, the three bought tickets and entered.

The moment they stepped inside, rhythmic music blasted into their ears. According to Yang Jiale, it was the most popular disco music at the moment.

Unable to hold herself back any longer, Yang Jiale eagerly started moving along to the beat. She even grabbed Zhao Fuyao’s hand.

“Come on, let’s dance together. Just move with the music.”

Although Liu Kai was usually quiet and reserved, he was much more lively around the two of them. He raised his hands and awkwardly started swaying along too.

The atmosphere inside grew more and more energetic. A large crowd had gathered near the front where someone was dancing on stage, so the three of them joined in and squeezed closer to watch the excitement.

Suddenly, the music switched to an even more explosive track, and the people on stage started leading everyone in jumping along to the beat.

The entire crowd below instantly went wild, everyone shaking their heads and moving with the music.

Yang Jiale completely let loose, dancing with full energy. Even Zhao Fuyao got swept up in the atmosphere. She was not shy at all, swaying along with the crowd and even throwing her hands up to cheer with everyone else.

Watching the two girls having fun, Liu Kai stayed protectively behind them, nodding his head and awkwardly bouncing along to the music too.

But in a corner not far away, four or five street punks had already set their eyes on Yang Jiale.

“The girl in green looks pretty good. Those long legs are seriously nice, and her face ain’t bad either.”

“The one beside her’s not bad too. Her skin’s so damn fair…”

The group spoke while letting out sleazy laughs.

The man leading them sat sprawled in a chair with one leg crossed over the other, casually picking at his teeth. He glanced over in their direction.

“Not bad taste today. Those two girls look young. Probably untouched.”

One of the lackeys immediately grinned and said, “Brother Ma, which one do you like? We’ll bring her over later so you can take a closer look.”

Brother Ma sized them up from head to toe before rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

“They both look good. Seems like they came together, so bring both of them over.”

“Got it, got it. We’ll bring them over in a bit.”

With that, the two punks exchanged a look and headed straight toward the crowd.

Meanwhile, Zhao Fuyao and the others were happily dancing when people suddenly started shoving from behind.

Liu Kai got pushed so hard he stumbled to the side. The dance floor was packed, the lights flashed nonstop, and no matter how hard he tried, he could not squeeze his way back through. In the end, he could only shout loudly:

“Jiale! Fuyao! Where are you guys?”

The deafening music drowned everything out.

Yang Jiale did not hear him, but Zhao Fuyao did.

She turned toward the direction of his voice just as someone behind her tried to press up against her. Without even looking back, she drove her elbow straight into him.

  “Ah!”

A man’s pained cry rang out behind her.

Zhao Fuyao did not even bother turning around. She grabbed Yang Jiale, who was still dancing away in front of her, and pulled her toward where Liu Kai’s voice had come from.

By the time the man behind them clutched his stomach and looked up again, the girls were already gone. He quickly rushed off to find his companion.

His companion was already up ahead. He had originally been planning to make a move on Yang Jiale, but the girl had suddenly been dragged away. With the crowd packed shoulder to shoulder, he could not even tell where they had gone.

“Tell Brother Ma. There are too many people inside. Let’s wait at the entrance instead. We’ll catch them sooner or later.”

Meanwhile, Zhao Fuyao and the others finally regrouped. Noticing those men had disappeared, Zhao Fuyao frowned and sharply scanned the surroundings.

“Liu Kai, come dance already! Don’t be so stiff!”

Yang Jiale grabbed Liu Kai and dragged him into the dancing while also calling out to Zhao Fuyao.

After playing around for over an hour, the place became even more crowded. Quite a few middle-aged men had joined in too. Yang Jiale nearly got groped at one point, but Zhao Fuyao reacted quickly and kicked the man before he could succeed.

Completely disgusted, Yang Jiale instantly lost the mood to keep playing. On top of that, Liu Kai had strict curfew rules at home, so the three decided to head back.

But the moment they stepped out the entrance, two sleazy-looking punks blocked their path.

“It’s still early. You beauties done playing already?”

Yang Jiale got nervous immediately. She was still just a fresh high school graduate who had always been well protected by her family. She tightly clutched Zhao Fuyao’s hand.

Before Zhao Fuyao could speak, Liu Kai stepped forward on his own.

“What do you want? This is a public place. Please move aside.”

The two punks exchanged a grin. One of them directly grabbed Liu Kai by the collar and yanked him to the side.

“Brat, if you wanna leave then get lost. This ain’t your business!”

  “Liu Kai!”

Yang Jiale let out a frightened scream, her voice trembling.

Although Liu Kai was scared too, he was even more furious.

“The police station’s just up ahead! If you bully my friends, don’t blame me for calling the cops!”

“You little bastard, huh? Refusing a toast only to drink a forfeit instead?”

The man raised his hand, ready to hit him, but Zhao Fuyao walked over and kicked him straight in the leg.

The man staggered from the force and lost his balance, crashing onto the ground with his palm slapping hard against the pavement.

Nobody had expected that sudden turn.

The other punk’s expression changed instantly. Cursing under his breath, he hurried over to help his companion up.

“So the quiet one’s actually got some moves. Just wait till I beat the shi…”

  Bang!

Before he could finish speaking, Zhao Fuyao kicked him flying over two meters away. He slammed straight into the wall corner with a loud crash.

Even the bystanders outside were stunned.

Inside, Brother Ma immediately sensed something was wrong. He led the rest of his men out and surrounded them.

Rubbing his chin, he sized Zhao Fuyao up before brushing aside the lackeys in front of him and stepping closer.

“Well now, what a feisty little thing. Even angry, you’re still cute as hell. Later on, Brother Ma’s definitely gonna treat you rea…”

Zhao Fuyao’s face darkened. She suddenly slid forward, spun her body in a swift circle, dropped into a split, and drove a fierce kick downward.

  Smack!

Brother Ma took that kick directly to the face mid sentence.

  “ARGH!”

Clutching his face, he staggered backward. Not only had his nose been knocked crooked, blood was pouring out so heavily it looked horrifying.

The lackeys hurried over to support him.

  “Brother Ma! Are you alright?!”

Brother Ma had never suffered such humiliation before. His face burned with pain, his vision flashing black on and off. Furious, he roared:

  “Teach this bitch a lesson!”

The rest of the gang immediately surrounded Zhao Fuyao aggressively.

“You bitch, do you even know who Brother Ma is? How dare you hit him! Today you’re dead meat!”

“Can’t even win a fight and still talking big? Take a look at your ugly damn selves! Men like you are seriously pathetic!”

Zhao Fuyao grabbed a stool from the entrance and hurled it straight at them. The force behind it was so terrifying that it instantly knocked two of them to the ground.

The rest of the lackeys froze in shock.

Just how freakishly strong was she?!

Liu Kai and Yang Jiale finally snapped out of their shock. Following behind Zhao Fuyao, the two of them fought through their fear and copied her by grabbing nearby objects to throw at the gangsters.

In just a few moves, Zhao Fuyao had already beaten the group badly enough that they no longer dared to rush forward recklessly. One by one, they grimaced in pain while backing off nervously.

Taking the chance, Zhao Fuyao spoke to the two behind her.

“You guys go home first. I’ll handle things here.”

Both of them answered at the same time:

“No way! How could we leave you here alone? We stay together!”

Yang Jiale’s eyes had already turned red. She was starting to regret insisting on coming here tonight. The thought of her friends getting hurt because of her genuinely scared her.

Knowing their personalities, Zhao Fuyao helplessly gave up trying to persuade them. She turned toward the troublemakers still lingering there.

“What are you idiots still standing around for?”

Her gaze looked at them like they were trash as she coldly snapped:

“You waiting around to get beaten again or what? Get lost!”
