Heavenly Eyes 3: A Song of Hope
CHAPTER 5
22.
How did he even get the impression that I was threatening him?
I was clearly trying to reason with him!
But Principal Wang didn't understand my good intentions at all.
He stormed towards me.
“Who are you?!”
I was a little panicked and took two steps back.
Although I'm not afraid of ghosts, Principal Wang is a human!
It's late at night, and it's just me and Principal Wang here. If he loses his temper and tries to hurt me, I probably wouldn't be able to fight him off.
“Principal, calm down. Actually, if you don't want to say it, I won't force you!”
Unexpectedly, Principal Wang resorted to underhanded tactics.
He suddenly lunged forward and pinned me down!
Not only did he pin me down, but he also tied me up and threw me to the edge of the rooftop, forcing me to reveal my identity and purpose for bothering him, otherwise, he'd throw me off.
Honestly, I really don't have any ulterior motives!
“Principal, is there a possibility that you're just guilty?”
Hearing me say this, Principal Wang got even angrier.
“You still say you have no purpose! Oh, I get it, you want money, right? How much do you want?”
Whoa, can I actually ask for money?
It seems that this matter really does have something to do with Principal Wang?
I originally wanted to call for help, but Principal Wang's words piqued my curiosity, so I decided to try bluffing him.
“Alright, you've found me out, Principal. After all, it's such a big secret, it wouldn't be good for anyone if it got out. How much are you planning to pay me?”
Upon hearing my words, Principal Wang laughed. “You've got some nerve, daring to blackmail me? Aren't you afraid I'll throw you down there too?”
That ‘too’ made me instantly alert.
Could it be that he pushed senior sister Tang?
I smiled as well. “Principal, it's not twenty years ago anymore. Technology is advanced, and surveillance is dense.
I didn't leave after school; I was wandering around the school and even went into your office. The surveillance cameras have recorded everything.
It's so late, and only your office light is still on. If I really died here, the police would be at your door tomorrow!
You're a respected figure. For things that can be solved with money, why get your hands dirty, right?
After all, you're about to retire, aren't you?”
23.
My words made Principal Wang hesitate, temporarily sparing my life.
He came over to untie me.
“Three hundred thousand, no more! I advise you not to push your luck…”
I nodded. “Three hundred thousand is a lot. It's enough for me to finish university…”
I planned to keep him talking first, then try to extract more information.
Unexpectedly, when Principal Wang was untying me, he accidentally knocked the recording pen I had hidden in my sleeve to the ground.
Principal Wang immediately became angry and picked up the recording pen.
“What's this?”
Oh, so embarrassing.
I thought, just in case, I'd bring an extra piece of equipment.
“Hehehe... I'm not a good student, so I record the teacher's lectures to listen to them at home.”
Principal Wang stared at me intently. “Do you think I believe you?”
Why is there no trust between people?
My hands were untied now, but my feet were still bound. If Principal Wang really wanted to kill me, I definitely wouldn't have time to escape.
But Shen Tong doesn't fight unprepared battles. Since he's so ruthless, I have to use my ultimate move.
I immediately pulled out a yellow talisman from my sleeve, lit it with a whoosh, chanted an incantation, and summoned senior sister Tang.
I knew her name and wrote it on my talisman.
My spiritual power is stronger than hers, and she receives offerings from me, so she cannot refuse my summons.
Senior sister Tang, hearing my call, floated up from behind me.
Dressed in a white dress, her face pale, her hair wildly dancing in the night wind, she asked faintly, “What do you want?”
This was a classic horror movie entrance. Not only Principal Wang, but even I was startled.
“Whoa! Senior sister Tang, you're so quiet when you walk!”
Senior Tang: “Didn't I just speak?”
While we were chatting, Principal Wang pointed at senior sister Tang behind me and shouted, “Tang Yun’en!”
Senior sister Tang frowned, looking at Principal Wang.
“You know me? You… look a little familiar…”
I quickly asked her, “Senior sister, take a look. Was it this person who pushed you off the roof that year?”
My words caused senior sister Tang's expression to drastically change.
With a whoosh, she appeared in front of Principal Wang.
“It's you! It's you!!!”
Principal Wang was completely terrified, collapsing onto the ground and screaming in fear.
“Tang Yun’en, don't come closer! Don't come closer! I was forced to do it back then!”
He called senior sister Tang's name twice. If I'm not mistaken, things are about to get really interesting.
Principal Tang appeared!
24.
Principal Tang's appearance sent the already terrified Principal Wang into a complete panic.
“Principal Tang! You! Don't come any closer!”
Principal Tang still had that vacant look.
“Director Wang? Have you seen my daughter, Yun’en?”
Twenty years ago, Principal Wang wasn't the principal yet; he was the headmaster.
I said to Principal Tang, “Principal Tang! He just admitted that he pushed senior sister Tang off the building that year. Senior sister Tang didn't commit suicide; he murdered her!”
Senior sister Tang also floated in front of Principal Tang.
“Mom, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have disobeyed you back then, arguing with you about applying to schools.
But I didn't commit suicide. I accidentally overheard Director Wang and the accountant embezzling funds, and that's why he pushed me off the building!
Because of my guilt, I haven't dared to see you all these years!”
Hearing this, Principal Tang immediately hugged senior sister Tang lovingly.
“Silly child, how could Mom blame you? It's all Mom's fault. Mom didn't protect you.”
Then, she glared fiercely at Principal Wang.
“Back then, Mom didn't commit suicide either. He, feeling guilty, poisoned me to prevent me from continuing to investigate your death, then made it look like a suicide.”
I was greatly shocked. I knew Principal Wang was bad, but I never imagined he was this bad.
This mother and daughter were both murdered by him!
Seeing his misdeeds exposed, Principal Wang tried to escape.
But now, with vengeful spirits pursuing him – Senior sister Tang in front, and her mother behind – he had no chance. He only had two legs, while they could float and teleport.
Principal Wang ran and ran, until he was exhausted. Panicked, he ran into the hallway, stumbled, and tumbled down the stairs.
My feet were still tied, and I couldn't untie them quickly, so I could only hop to the stairwell to see what happened to him.
Principal Wang had a terrible fall. His head was covered in blood, and it looked like he'd broken his leg.
Shen Chen, having waited a long time without seeing me come home, had returned to look for me, bringing the security guard.
Seeing the situation, he called an ambulance and sent Principal Wang to the hospital.
A check-up revealed a concussion and fractures. He was also delirious, telling everyone he'd killed someone and begging the police to arrest him.
Could the police refuse such a request?
They immediately took him away for questioning.
25.
Afterward, I got a scolding from Shen Chen.
He also tattled on me to Shao Lanxuan, who also gave me a tongue-lashing and said he'd be coming to school next week to keep a close eye on me.
I forgot to mention that although the young master is still in high school, his family's company has so much going on that he rarely attends classes.
This time, he specifically made time to come and scold me.
To this, I can only say I've been thoroughly humbled and beg both of my ‘big brothers’ to let me off.
That night, I had a dream. In it, I saw Principal Tang and senior sister Tang standing together, smiling happily and waving at me.
I thought that perhaps, with their grievances settled and wishes fulfilled, they were preparing to be reborn.
I rushed out, wanting to see senior sister Tang one last time.
As I left, I saw Liang Zhen sitting alone at the entrance, hugging her knees and crying. She was covered in bruises and her clothes were askew.
I was startled and quickly brought Liang Zhen back to my place, giving her some of my clothes to change into.
However, Liang Zhen didn't like my other clothes; her eyes were fixed on my school uniform.
I instantly understood what she meant.
“You want to wear a school uniform? You want to go to school, don't you?”
Liang Zhen nodded, a shy and bashful smile appearing on her face.
I agreed. “Okay! You can wear it!”
Then I helped her put on my school uniform.
Liang Zhen is actually quite pretty, but because of her intellectual disability and the constant beatings she endured, she appeared shy and timid.
I gave her some food, and she ate it ravenously.
I thought for a moment, then said to her, “From now on, don't do those things with your uncle anymore.”
Liang Zhen asked, “What things?”
I found it difficult to say. “It's... don't let him kiss you... touch you, okay?”
Liang Zhen didn't seem to understand, or perhaps she did. She lowered her head and fiddled with the sweets in her hand.
“But... he smiles at Zhen'er, and he also sings Zhen'er to sleep.
He doesn't hit Zhen'er. He says that if I do those things with him, he'll give Zhen'er sweets…”
My fists clenched.
That man... he's utterly shameless!
I took a deep breath, softening my voice.
“I'll be good to you too! You don't need to do anything! If you're cold, you can come find me. If you're hungry, you can come find me too. If your mother hits you again, just run to my house, okay?”
Liang Zhen stared at me blankly, then nodded after a while, grinning at me foolishly.
“Mm!”
I patted her head and said to her, “Then eat your food properly. I'll tell my aunt that you're staying at my house today, and I'll come find you when I get back from school!”
